Go and show some love over on his site-creation and sites. Motion was taking 7 minutes to start, but now only 6 seconds, following the advice of fox_m.

Starting Motion will now open a blank project immediately, skip the Project Browser, and avoid the head-numbing delay when a lot of plugins are installed in FCP. Set up a Blank Motion Project with your desired default Preset setting. Under For New Documents, select Use Project.

Per fox_m, in Motion Preferences select the Project tab/page. I confirmed that by uninstalling most of my plugins and adding them back the load time went down to 11 seconds and back to several minutes as I reinstalled various plugins. If you have Plugin Acquisition Syndrome as bad as I do, then Motion has a ton of plugins to go thru and list in the Plugin Browser, and that literally can take minutes - in my case, a full 7 minutes. In short, when Motion is set in Preferences to open to the Project Browser, Motion apparently goes thru all available projects, including all (or many) plugins installed for FCP.
